This month's session topic is:
Writing Layers - adding form, texture and depth to your words through Creativity and Play
Tuesday, August 3 at 10 AM Pacific Time
Do you want to have more fun with your writing and improve its quality?
Would you like to try new techniques and strategies, but you aren't sure where to start?
Do you love the writing life but get lonely in the solitary lifestyle?
The Writer’s Playdate sessions are informal, laser-like AND abundant hour long “just for fun and wild creativity”. They offer writing exercises and experiences for writers who want to experience community, connection and a burst of passion in their writing.
We will take the mystery away from writing poetry and by the time our (less than an hour) session is over, you will have written at least one poem, if not more.
You will have laughed and written and laughed and written and laughed.
You will have experimented with sounds and images that will pump up any genre of writing, even if what you mostly do is technical writing or business writing.
These are stand-alone sessions are yours to enjoy at no cost to you except for the phone call!

My name is Julie Jordan Scott and I have been teaching writing for nine years via teleclasses and ecourses and I love, love, love it. My students tell me my classes are unique, refreshing and definitely block-bursting.
I would love nothing more than to have you join in our fun on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 10 AM Pacific time when we bring our inner poets out to play. It doesn't matter of your poetic self has been asleep for decades or if you have written a poem-a-day for the last ten years. Everyone can benefit, regardless of level of expertise. The only requirement is an open mind and a willingness to dive into writing.
The Writer's Playdate is NOT passive, it is an active, thriving experience in creativity.
Stop waiting to write and start writing - and have FUN at the same time!
I can't wait to write and play and write and play and write together!
TO REGISTER: Simple send an email to me at [email protected] In the subject of the email put something about Poetry or Writer's Play Date.
Julie,
This sounds great. It's been quite a while since I've experienced a free flowing, inspiring hour like this. So much of my freedom in writing, acknowledging myself as a writer, and becoming public... valuing that I might have something to say comes out of my experiences of working with you in many of your writing courses.
In my Picture to Ponder ezine, started during one of your courses and another program I was in, my writing is usually prompted by my photography AND one issue what particularly stands out for me, is when I went searching for a photo to illustrate "From my heart to yours" which I wrote in a morning group call with you. I went for a walk in the location I had written about and an amazing, right-on, natural image showed up.- See http://www.eteletours.com/issue130a.html
Thank you for doing this again.
With appreciation and love,
Sheila
