PLEASE NOTE - This is some inspiration from the archives - Welcome back, Passion Activator Friday!
This morning I wasn’t sure how I would be doing when my 11:00 sprint writing group rolled around. Well, it started fine seeing as I actually showed up and this writing I am doing is during my favorite Team Sprinty time.
Ninety minutes ago I was sipping a Peppermint Mocha at Starbucks. My tastebuds were delighted to discover we finally figured out the right number of pumps to use to make it the way I like it, but other than that, I felt like I was bobbing out on see, holding onto a buoy in the fog.
I could hear the fog whistle and sort of make out the lighthouse, but I was going nowhere and from all appearances, I didn’t think anyone noticed my absence.
I came home knowing this every weekday writing circle would start fairly soon, so I revised and uploaded a blog. I had told myself I would also clean one section of my dining room but I had procrastinated for such a long time and I really didn’t want to do it… and I was still not feeling very motivated….
When some super extra energy plowed through me.
I not only did the part of the job I had promised myself to do, I went above and beyond. I even pulled out the mop. It looks better, I feel better and I was only ten minutes late to my writing circle.
This reminds me so much of Passion Activator Friday.
It is the boat that rows up when you are floating on the buoy, frozen and lifeless feeling like you have no choices or turns to make. The boat is filled with people wearing an assortment of slickers and sweaters and blankets and best of all, as soon as you let go of the buoy, each group member reaches out to you: this one with a blanket, that one with a steaming mug of chicken noodle soup, another one with a dry, wooly sweater to replace the one on you that has gotten all wet
Passion Activator Friday helps us to be more motivated when we didn’t necessarily think it was possible. Even on those days when you can’t get that much oomph, you may laugh along with those who are getting more stuff done in a shorter amount of time than they thought they could.
We are meeting every Friday in December, 2015 - hooray!
I look forward to meeting you or seeing you again or renewing our friendship while we have a blast doing whatever is on our to-do list with a lot more joy and ease.
And we will be doing the events regularly over the next few months. If you aren't able to join us tomorrow, follow me on twitter or Facebook or at my Main Blog to never be out of the loop.
