I have at least three unopened gifts sitting on shelves right now. Some have been on shelves for nearly a month. I could grab these gifts and open right this very moment, but still I sit typing these words at 5:06 am on December 30, 2016.
I think I have pin-pointed both the why of that and the root cause of the why.
I haven’t opened the gifts because I wanted the people who sent me the gifts to feel honored by the unveiling. I have wasted time worrying about how those who love and care about me enough to give me gifts has blocked my receiving of said gifts.
What would happen if I simply opened them, rejoiced in them, thanked the givers and started using the gifts in my life?
The root cause is this: I am not good at receiving. I am a blocked receiver and undoing this block is the single most critical aspect of my success now and tomorrow and next week, month and year.
So what will I do?
I am going to start opening. Now.
I am going to open privately and share publicly.
One at a time.
Givers out there, watch as this post is updated.
Much love to each and all of you and please know how grateful I am for your many gifts.
I believe I am worthy to receive the gifts you have given me and the other gifts I’ve received (as in personal giftedness) that I’ve neglected to open completely in this past year or two or five or eight.
I believe I have many gifts in this category.
Every day I am better and better at receiving.
For this, and so much more, I am grateful.
