On Monday, the #5for5BrainDump Challenge begins again.
I am so grateful to hold space for writers who are engaged in writing for at least five minutes a day for five consecutive days. Some will do so on Periscope, live, where I will write alongside them. I am creating a series of prompts for this session based on a poem I wrote back in October, 1999. I read this poem this afternoon on scope and yes, I am thankful for that, too.
I am thankful I was able to buy shoes for Emma's birthday today.
I am thankful she finally went on her long awaited photo play adventure in the canyon, one of my all-time favorite spaces here in Kern County.
I am thankful I have a comfy space to write in and enough of a will to hit the page with my eyes and heart wide open almost daily.
I am thankful for my friends, friends here in Bakersfield and across the world, who encourage my creative adventures and mis-adventures of which I am thankful for both.
I am thankful Samuel survived his first week of his sophomore year of school.
I am thankful I am able to text my daughters, I am thankful for their resilience. I am thankful for the sunrise this morning and the quote from Hafiz about the sky pouring light.
I am thankful I have a timer that applauds my efforts here.
I am thankful, so thankful, so thankful.
