For this year's August Moon, the plan was to write for five minutes stream of consciousness style on the prompts offered and post whatever shows up.
Tonight I did that - but since I will be traveling for a good portion of the time and I do not have my computer with me (see below!) my posting will be limited.
Nonetheless - I will share as consistently as possible. I may even learn how to post from my phone. That would be a positive thing, afterall... and for now... read on.
I pull back the curtain and I see….
Light.
I sit at my desk and look toward sunrise. This is how I start my day and in fact, how I often start my life both metaphorically and otherwise.
I pull back the curtain and I see an audience, a collection of people waiting: they may be waiting for a play to begin or they may be waiting for a concert to begin or a recital. I pull back the curtain and I see expectation.
Right now in this life I see expectation for my next chapter.
I am writing this on a computer in a hotel lobby. My own computer went kaput on the eve of my road trip to take my daughter to an east coast college. I wanted to blog the entire experience -- apparently my computer had a different idea.
It’s ok. Sometimes when we pull back the curtain we see the unexpected.
Right now I am optimistic with a dash of worry that when I return home I may feel the desire to leap into my “what’s next” though that is my intent.
I pull back my curtain and I see my windows need watching, I see a dry lawn from my refusal to water much during this drought we are in. I pull back my curtain and I see promise. I see a future, I see a hope, I see people walking their dogs and pushing baby strollers.
I see my past.
I see my future when I pull back the curtain.
I write it.
I listen and take dictation and pray when I pull back the curtain.
