Time, time, time... I'm hearing a song by the Bangles here. Hazy Shade of Winter? Yes, it is. The video follows my stream of consciousness writing about building a renewed relationship with.... time, time, time like I did! Now read and then fall back into 1987 and the Bangles and all the fun that was and is and is to come....
I hit the timer without thinking, which is funny because I have been much more alert lately to the “what comes next.” This is a good thing, a positive thing - that somehow I flipped a switch onto mindful time management again.
It is something I used to be good at, seriously good at but somewhere along the way I lost that connection and things fell by the wayside. Now, in the last week, I have seen positive outcomes in this short amount of time and that, my loves, feels like an ice cream cone delivered by an angel.
How about an ice cream cone that melts at a pace your tongue and tummy can keep up with?
Yes, that is what it is like.
A renewed relationship with time is what I’ve found. While it wasn’t my intention, I’ve also been assisting others to make better use of time, too. I have been bossier. I have been slightly edgier, too, which I don’t know is related it simply is.
I even just took a sip of iced tea and didn’t think. “Julie, your five minutes will end and you will miss out on saying something because you are drinking tea!” but I didn’t even go there. I just leisurely drank my tea as if five minutes to write is an expansive number.
You know what?
When you decide it is an expansive amount of time somehow it becomes an expansive period of time.
I like how that works!
I have thirty seconds left.
My variation on this ending is…. I don’t have to think of a fancy new ending. I like how it is. And I like how my rambling about the last thirty seconds is. Rich, very rich. Expansive and glorious…
And the bells on my timer sing.
That is what this renewed relationship with time sounds like: an angel bell choir delivering ice cream cones right on schedule. I’ll take it.

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the guidelines…
Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
- Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. This is writing in the raw.
- Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
- Link back to the AllThingsFadra.com post (feel free to use the SOC Sunday graphic).
- Add your post below (be sure to use the permalink to your post, not your blog’s URL; and only NEW posts please).
- Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.
