“Every step, even a tentative one, counts.”
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Musings....
Ten feet from where I sit, the television blares. A mystery of some sort is on and I am working hard to focus on writing rather than the content on the television. I am sharing space with someone so I can not turn the offensive noise box off.
I think of Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s words: every word, even a tentative one, even one written while the television show characters are gossiping so much so I can’t fully enjoy the bird singing outside the window or the complexities of Anne Morrow Lindergh’s words opening doors to possible new thoughts.
The reality stands, though, that I am writing.
Even with the obstacles and the less than pristine circumstance I am writing.
I hear my daughter sing from her bedroom and I smile.
I love hearing her sing.
Every note, even tentatively sung, counts.
I am able to choose to write even while the circumstances are far from perfect. I am able to choose to hear my daughter and the bird sing rather than choose negative thoughts.
I remember I choose to be at peace with myself.
