I used to lament there were no people like me to be found in Bakersfield.
Guess what happened once I started living with passion in the place I lived?
People appeared, like magic. My people. People who loved words and poetry. People who engaged in performance. Artists, funny people, quirky people, colorful people all became my beloveds.
Here in Bakersfield?
I oftentimes tell people, “If I live like this in Bakersfield, people can live like this anywhere.”
Once you start moving in the direction of what you are passionate about, people will begin to appear.
It is not entirely unlike Field of Dreams when we hear over and over again, “If you build it, he will come.”
If you live passionately, you naturally attract others who live passionately.
Please try this out: give yourself a week to live consistently fired up and asking the world to bring passion to you and you will seek passion in your actions, in your thoughts and in your creative explorations.
In a week, let me know what’s happened and who you have found.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Create your community now.
