This weekend I am doing somersaults because I am so excited to participate in this unique event. I will spend 24 hours (not necessarily consecutive) working on my blog, participating in mini-challenges and attending twitter parties, among other things, with fellow bloggers who are all doing the same thing.
It’s much like a party, actually.
I posted this earlier today but am just now revising it to include this little explanation. If you click on the image to the right or even right here where you see Blogathon Bash 2! You can go check it out… and possibly even join the fun!
Today started brilliantly in a mastermind planning meeting with my friend, Kimberly Kirchmer Dinsdale. I followed that up with a trip to an estate sale – and then slid into my desk in time for the tail end of the Blogathon Bash twitter party.
Just for the record, I love twitter parties. SERIOUSLY!
I have my standing 11:00 am writing group – and I realized half way through that I still haven’t written my post announcing I am doing the Blogathon Bash this weekend.
So, yes, weird start and strong finish, I am sure.
I have several blog goals: the first is to take some of my content on my Julie Unplugged Blog and include it on my Writing Camp blog – which I want to be a resource for writers as well as a place to announce my Writing and Creativity Camps.
I know I must have thought of that before and yet never followed up on it.
I may put some writing stuff on my blogger Writing Camp blog, which is mostly made up of the meditative writing I do while participating in writing camp.
This then leads us to another goal: perusing my blogger blogs and keeping what I want and deleting what I don’t.
I am primarily on Typepad, where I will also be deleting dead blog wood and sticking with what works.
I am still thinking of moving to Wordpress like almost everyone else I know, but still haven’t taken the leap. Part of what the blogathon will do for me – I trust – is deciding if and when I will do that.
I also want to study SEO stuff and ways to increase my traffic and work on the mini-challenges.
I love them as well, but I haven’t even had the chance to pop over to the main Blogathon bash website to see what’s up the status with the minichallenges.
Phew. I said a lot in a few words and by jove, I have goals after all.
Finally, I look forward to meeting each and all of you this weekend. I know I will learn a lot, grow a lot, and do a lot of networking with y’all – which I am sure will be my favorite part of all.
