Traveling with Samuel this time has been more difficult than usual. Perhaps it is his age or that his autism has waned so much we forget what we need to do in order to keep him centered.
We had planned to couchsurf more this trip, but after a first stressful nearly sleepless night for me, we opted out of this fun means of travel.
Now that we have one night to go and are spending nearly the entire day relaxing in our hotel room, Samuel is getting more specific. "On our next trip, it needs to be shorter. Three or four days," he says.
That is a perfectly reasonable request.
For now, I'll be considering what our next, shorter destination as a family will be.
