Until today I planned to feature someone else. I was all set to run with a woman named Xochitl. I happen to love the name – for those unfamiliar it is pronounced Zo – She. It is an Aztec name that means “Flower”. I didn’t have very good luck, though. I found an aspiring poet and a Chicago based songwriter, but that was it. Discouraged, I looked up Author and Xandra and just like that, I “met” Xandra James, a British Romance Writer.
She has always wanted to write romances, even as a child when she couldn’t comprehend what it was all about, she knew its fascination and felt the appeal of writing romance. She grew into a Queen Procrastinator, yet very active in publishing and in online challenges.
We share an appreciation for Emma Stone and blogging. You may find her blog here:
Here is my favorite quote from her recent TwitterFeed: “Official. Burning candle at both ends makes you impatient & story turns into blah, blah, blah & then they kiss, the end. Not good.”
If I do the A to Z Challenge next year, I will be sure to check in and see what Xandra is up to with her literary leanings. She seems like she will be a lot of fun to “get to know” in the interim.
This blog post is an entry in the A to Z Challenge. Each day in April (except Sundays) I will be featuring a woman in literary history. If you click on the logo below, you will be introduced to the writing of more than a thousand bloggers writing on a wide variety of topics in April, all from A to Z!
