Like other posts I have read, the past few weeks barely felt like a break, but I am glad to be back, strapping my accountability skates on my writing feet.
Last round I had a whole slew of goals. Very specific & fabulous, but seeing as in April I am working with a bunch of writing challenges, I am setting a lot of other stuff aside – just for April – to see where my words will lead me after April. Which writing will beg to get my attention. Which writing will continue to woo me, which writing will annoy the hell out of me.
So, for now – in April, here are my goals:
Write a daily Cinquain poem. (If you don’t know what a Cinquain is, it is a form of Micropoetry created by a woman named Adelaide Crapsey in the early 20th century. It is five lines, somewhat similar to haiku but not exactly. (or see the link).
Write a daily poem that is NOT a Cinquain. (I am doing NaPoWriMo like a boss, my son would say! LOL).
Complete the A-Z Challenge. I am writing on Women in Literary History. My primary focus is less well known women authors and I am alphabetizing by the first name rather than the surname. If you have any suggestions for F and Beyond, comment to let me know your ideas. I am open and love exploring the lives of writers I haven’t met yet.
Perform in at least Two Poetry events monthly.
Continue to work on Women’s Sphere art/poetry project.
Exercise at least four times weekly for at least 45 minutes a session.
I look forward to supporting you and being supported by you as this Round 2 continues.
Word-love, one and all!
