Last week was Spring Break for my children. For whatever reason this always knocks my creativity off kilter. I know, I know, I shouldn’t blame my children for any side of my creative pursuits, it is all good and all right, etc, but my creativity is just different when my schedule is thrown off.
I usually do daily writing sprints at 11 am. I didn’t sprint once last week. I was occupied with my children as it should be. I value every moment with them, I don’t resent them… I simply created differently.
We were visiting the bay area, so I took more photos of our adventures and then edited them, wiggled them around and had fun with them, see?
I wrote poetry on the fly, as we drove back to Bakersfield from Oakland. I had been gathering images and when the time came, I simply strung them together. I performed them Thursday night. I was petrified I was going to suck but guess what? I didn’t!
They liked me, they really liked me!
I managed to create more Women’s Sphere art, just slightly different than I will this week. AND ITS all good, its just different. That will be my mantra from now on when my children are on break.
It was a great week, just different.
