This particular Reverb11 prompt came via Besottment. My love for photography isn't as old as my passion for writing, but I do enjoy the image keeping and documentation I do now which supports my Word-Love. I couldn't resist this prompt today.
December 15 - What was your favourite photo taken OF you and/or the photo you loved best that you took in 2011?
I take photos on an oh-very-regular basis and have many favorites for many different reasons. Some of my most striking photos from this year were at Dana Point, visiting the lovely beaches there at sunrise and sunset.
I took some great photos here in Bakersfield as well. Here I snap surprising moments in time, captured, held, remembered and muse-makers throughout the year.
My two favorite photos may not be the best composition or the “most universally appealing” subject matter AND they are phenomenally close to my heart. They were both taken on the same day, October 24, when I was visiting Massachusetts.
The photo I loved best is one of a series taken at the Annie Sullivan Memorial in Agawam, Massachusetts. I had to do quite a bit of research to find this place. When I did, I was completely in awe… I was speechless. I couldn’t even write, which for me is shocking.
The photo of ME I loved best was taken later that day as I sat on a log in the woods alongside Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. I was completely alone and more than a little bit ecstatic. I had just met a lovely couple from Massachusetts. The husband took several photos of me writing, but none of them turned out very well, in my opinion.
This one, however… speaks volumes.
My ecstasy shows on my face, doesn’t it? No makeup, hair only brushed lightly and yet, I am at my most gorgeous ever. I wish I could look like this everyday! Maybe a secret I am to uncover is to create this level of ecstasy in the ordinary experiences, not only the transcendentalist ones far from home. OR make my home there, where my connection with ecstasy is as simple as breathing.
