Today was my most productive day I have had since I started #ROW80 round 4. The first check ins happened when I was in a fog of disbelief. I wasn’t sure I would “get to” this challenge because so much was unraveling around me.
The good news is, I did jump in.
The even better news is, I am sticking to it!
I found a couple new apps for my Android which helped keep me in line today. One of Color Notes: Just google it or look in your phone marketplace. I created a Daily Action plan for my #ROW80 goals. I was so pleased to check stuff off and it truly motivated me.
The other app is called Timers4Me. I had forgotten how much I love working in 30 minute chunks. I can keep my focus exceptionally high for 30 minutes so this felt FANTASTIC! Especially since in addition to ROW80 I started the Art Every Day Month challenge. If I didn’t have this timer app, I probably wouldn’t gave gotten to both today… it would have been either/or instead of both/and. Lucky, listening me.
I have also continued with #Wordmongering which really helped direct my WIP which I had done almost no work on until the time of this check in. Finally, I feel firmly on my way and I have discovered some glorious A-Ha’s along the way.
Writing/Craft
Write: It is something quite remarkable to say on task with everything. And I am!
WIP: Thanks to #wordmongering, I have been averaging 1,000 words a day!
Edit: POETRY: Work on editing one poem daily – I actually worked on WRITING so far this week because I have a poetry performance this Thursday. I am completely unmotivated about it. Wish I didn’t have to do it.
PROSE: I’m calling it Life, Interrupted / I haven’t been gleaning and editing since my return from New England, I have been writing new material as I said above. I am quite pleased… and I realized when I don’t want to face something I am writing, I tend to shut down.
Read: One poem a day. YES! I am delighted I have kept this one up. Writing from all different genre, era and style of poets, this is a goal that moves me.
One Book on the Art of Writing. This week I read from both Naked, Drunk and Writing by Adair Lara and Writing Poems. The former inspired a separate blog post.
Creativity as a Practice:
I have started my annual participation in Art Every Day Month via CreativeEveryDay.com ~ I am focusing on women writers and artists. It is awesome… I’m glad to be a part of it. It will definitely serve this part of my goals!
Social Media
Weekly: Write no less than five blog posts weekly . I’m on target!
Biweekly: Post my #ROW80 updates on Wednesday and Sunday! Continue with SOCSunday and Wishcasting. Yes, yes, YES!
Daily: Visit no fewer than two or three of my fellow #ROW80 as well as participants in Art Every Day Month. Also, in the next few days I will be sure to tweet encouragement. I love the community that is created from the writers of #ROW80.
Thank you, all, for your comments on my words.
My version of AMEN: REMEMBER I WRITE BECAUSE I LOVE IT and… Word-love has the power to change the world. One sentence at a time, we are having a positive impact on this beloved planet.
Until Sunday, Word-love to you all!
