Today Jamie Ridler's Wishcasting offered us this: What do you wish for your home?
I read the wish and knew it was a good one, but I had a date with the Labyrinth to work through some of the yuck I had been feeling for the last few weeks so off I went before I had the chance to thoroughly contemplate my wish cast.
Turns out, as always, this was exactly how it was supposed to be. After all, we learned several weeks ago there are NOT any wishcasting police.
I repeat, there are NOT any wishcasting police!
I have been working on my house off and on for the past year or so. I painted my heart out last Spring and covered up a lot of not-so-pretty walls. I started sewing some extra cheerful curtains with the fabric I bought at my favorite (did I mention inexpensive?) fabric store.
I got lost, though, in the hot days of Summer and then the rush-rush days of Fall. I had wanted to paint Emma's room after Katherine left but somehow we never got to it.
What I wish for now includes this in it as well as my experience this morning AND my weekly intention of "Create Space."
I wish to make my home a more inviting creative sanctuary for both my family and the people who come to visit. I want people to be able to feel the creative energy as well as the invitation to collaboration before they even cross the threshold.
I wish to continue filling my home with colorful art by myself, my children and other local artists as well as photographs, dream boards and other souvenirs of all that is good, right and holy.
I wish to grow things and fill my home with soulful fragrances and lively conversations.
I wish to let go of what doesn't fit to create adequate space for what fits now.
I wish to create a backyard haven for contemplation, prayer, and body-soul movement.
I wish to make my home more of a reflection of the inner me.
I wish....
What do you wish?
