Yesterday I read Annie Q. Syed's Still Sunday blog post which included a reference to a book I had never heard of before, Radical Presence: Teaching as Contemplative Practice by Mary Rose O’Reilley. Naturally I had to go to Amazon to see what I could see. Immediately I was struck by the similarity in our thoughts.
O'Reilley writes of the importance of Creating Space in teaching. How often have I mentioned this in my writing programs, camps... life coaching... which all is actually... facilitating... which to me is what the best teaching is... facilitating learning, igniting fires in the learners who show up in the "classroom" in whatever context that may be...
So this morning when I was opening to my weekly intention a la the lovely Andrea it came back to me. Create Space. I was going to make a fancy collage or something, but in honor of the intention, found a background I painted at the Art and Spirituality Center last Spring and simply wrote the words of my intention upon it.
Oh, and it feels soooo beyonnnnndddddd GOOOOOODDDDD~
