I am not feeling particularly verbose today - perhaps it is the holiday approaching... the fact I am apart from many of my most loved family members... I don't know. I just know I am feeling... off.
I have been creating away, anyway.
For the last couple days I have been working on my Receiving Dance drawing from last April.
I randomly drew this lovely lady (quasi self portrait) using a sketch book that had sat, unused, since 1977. The High School Julie had some art there (embarrassing to the today Julie... well, and tender, too.)
Today I found my Receiving Dance woman had also been a part of a Full Moon Dream Board... here is how she looked in that edition, made from printed photos of her likeness... not the original.
I love this repurposing of my art. I didn't even realize I did this!
I looked at her two days ago and thought, "her paper is so... Ecru, just like my NaNoWriMo protagonist, the future super heroine Ecru Comma... and we decided she would want more color. So I gave her a wash of color using way watered down acrylic over her Bad-Ass crayon self.
I added some green commas and hearts, again randomly...along with words from a free write.
She is still teaching me, still growing in me.
I'm holding her, gently, finding what more she has to teach me.
