We are more than two-thirds of the way through GwenBell's Best09 Blog Challenge. It feels great to still be going so strong....
December 21 Project. What did you start this year that you're proud of?
Three things I will write about here, though there are
actually many more which I could write about here.
In November I signed up for Art
Every Day Month. I figured I am involved in some creative process daily anyway,
the only difference is in doing this project I would be committed to writing
about it, what sort of a big deal would that be?
It turned out to be monumental.
I have never considered
myself a visual artist, even since I have shown and sold photography. I always
think that is far less important (or perhaps cool) than the artist friends I
have who are painters or sculptors. In Art Every Day Month I gave myself
freedom to experiment and play so naturally, I had a great time and I met
oodles of great people.
I also restarted Passion
Activator Fridays, events in passionate productivity which I began and then stopped doing several years ago. These are what some life coaches
call “Integrity Days” but that sounds so heavy and not fun at all. Passion
Activator Friday is about getting stuff done (emptying the in-box, completing
the to-do list) but doing so in community with like-minded, like hearted souls
who end up laughing and sharing AND getting stuff done. Its great and we have
decided to hold them in January, too – each Friday except on New Year’s Day. If
you would like to participate, they are free to attend, you may just want to
check back here or via my ezine, Daily Passion Activator.
Finally – ten days ago I started
the birth process of a new project which I am calling AboveResolutions2010. I
have started in that I am getting the pieces into place for a third week in
January pubic start… the kick off will be on Wednesday. It is all very very
exciting… and something I would have done as a matter of course prior to my
brother dying and my son being diagnosed with autism and everything else that
brought my (then-life) to a roaring halt.
Makes all of this celebration in 2009 even grander….
I also want to mention the plentiful opportunities I had in Theater this year. I was blessed with many opportunities to learn and grow, though the over-arching theme seemed to be the Art of the Monologue. I have been so inspired from theater work this year, I am itching to go to Los Angeles and audition just for the fun of it... because that is sort of how I have operated all along - doing all of this just for the fun of it so why not?
And I get that distinctive feeling of Robert Browning’s…”The
best is yet to be…”
