Bell’s Blog 09 Challenge, on our 20th Day asks….December 20 New person. She came into your life and turned it
upside down. He went out of his way to provide incredible customer service. Who
is your unsung hero of 2009?
I remember when I first met Hester. I was working on A Woman Called Truth and the Vagina Monologues and was just coming off The Good Life in one of those hectic show-after-show-after-show experiences of 2009. I think I had known her for about three days when I started calling her "The Theater Angel".
One night she was just there, watching rehearsal and the next thing I know she was sewing costumes and doing hair, pre-show and working in the booth and weaving her way into the fabric of my day both at the theater and outside the theater.
Later in the run I told her
about auditions for A Winter’s Tale and we worked on that together and
then, naturally, she told me about the auditions for Zombie High and
that lead to one of the most fantabulous experiences of my life – all the way
to the premiere at the Fox Theater in October. Found my Utopia revisitation-to-my-childhood
right here in the heart of
Hester is insightful, she
is compassionate, she is smart, she is funny, she is gracious, she is
unspoiled, she is gorgeous in a way that you barely notice it after a while
because she is just so… I am at a loss of how to describe her which is perhaps
the greatest compliment of all.
Hester - so grateful to know her. This watercolor (which she made on request at Dagny's one day) isn't finished. I trust her impact upon others is like that, too - forever a work in progress and a matter of following her heart into the hearts of many.
