Last Thursday I spent some time at San Miguel, sitting among the long-ago fallen leaves, enjoying the scent of life returning to the Earth as I returned to one of my favorite spots in Bakersfield.
I wrote and wrote and wrote - in the blog entry previous to this one you can see the fruit of that writing.
What I did this morning was... because of the cool temperatures... I had a fire in my fireplace with gorgeous river-tree-wood.
A couple haiku were born which I will share, fresh, here:
River branches burn
Surrender themselves for me
Amber tongue licks their skin
Breathing just like this
Doors creak reflections open
My soul fills my skin
Can anyone say.... heaven?
