Monique - so beautiful - my friend since "Into the Woods"... my first 'big' show. She played "The Witch" and I was "Jack's Mom" - I was her dresser during the transition scene from old haggy witch (I know, her? an old haggy witch?) into a beautiful young thing.
I would run alongside her pulling clothes off her and then slide her into her next dress, shoes, everything.... as she did her makeup and someone else finished off her hair.
I loved it, actually - the entire process.
Just like I love the theatre, the entire hands-on process.
Tim and Mark were both in "Miracle" two years ago when I directed it. Last night, when I was backstage, it felt so.... right... to be there again.
That magical space, that unique presence there - so much history, so much heartbreak and always, ever after it seems, reconciliation.
