Today was the first day since “The Talents” opened that I did all my morning practices. I was on the 42 Days of Writing Activation Telegathering, then I took the dogs out, then I did my morning pages, then I did a little bit of inspirational reading – today, a really remarkable play entitled “The Guys.” (To find out about the book, check out this section in Amazon and then come back and read the rest of this entry:)
It feels SOOOOO good! I hadn’t done my morning pages – and today, wow – I feel back to my normal self.
I had done sort-of morning pages… like a paragraph here or there and maybe a whole page later in the day, but today it was three whole, luscious pages. Well, maybe it would be more truthful to say the last page got a bit weak.
I found myself writing a love ode to my Barnes and Noble discount membership card:
“That well worn, unattractive green piece of plastic has brought me through childbirth, through building my business, through love and loss and love again, through awakening talents through more Storytimes then I really care to remember.
“I love expanding my knowledge. I love excelling. That well worn, unattractive green piece of plastic has bought me discounted cups of coffee, journals, and discounts on already bargain books.”
Then my writing got really large, to fill the space.
“I love that little piece o’ plastic. Ugly or NOT! I love it sooooooo much.”
