I went to Kosmos last night - the first time I went to the place which used to be called "Goose Loonies".
I had heard lots of theatre people went there on Thursday nights and Bianca was back in town after several years so off I went - with Summer in tow, too.
Yes, I enjoyed the singing and the camaraderie.
What I really enjoyed the most, though, made its way to my gratitude list this morning. I hadn't realized the significance of it until I scribed, free flow style:
I am grateful for the time at karaoke last night with Bianca and Summer and so many friends from theatre – especially Greg who continues to affirm everything I do…. (and the hugs were also extraordinary – something about being held so fully with no expectation of anything else delighted me more than I can communicate with words.)
I realized I hadn't been hugged like that for a long time - full, complete and without any expectations except for the "holding of another in the moment."
Greg also said, "Your confidence is now where your talent is - excellent, excellent, excellent - keep it up."
His words, another way of holding another in the moment.
I have closed my eyes several times this morning and stepped right back into that hug - that cuddle - that moment in time where I felt completely serene and at peace - and not thinking of anything except for loving that feeling.
Ah, yes, Karaoke Kuddles at Kosmos in Bakersfield.
I'll hold onto this one for a long, long time.
