After a lackluster appointment with my morning pages and a photo prompt from an instagram group, I decided to combine blackout poetry with the photo prompt. I had a book of essays/interview of Isabel Allende in front of me and tore a random page and this poem is what was birthed from that process.
The imagery wasn’t what I thought I wanted and yet I am pleased with the outcome. I often find when I steer too tightly in the direction I think I am supposed to go, I am more disappointed than when I hold loosely, as I did here.
Writing?
emanating from that feminine world –
they leave their los espiritus,
I wonder how they feel…..
