I have written more consecutive poetry in the last week than I have in a long, long time. Last night I discovered my voluminous earlier work, from 2003 through 2008 and it felt so refreshing to find myself in those words again.
Rejuvenation via poetics. I like it. Today's poem is inspired by the visual prompt from Magpie Tales. Enjoy and write poetry alongside the others....
She bled herself awake into the emptiness
what once was no longer fills her shredded nest, nexus, not anymore
Simply awry, she thought, salacious anxiety from
the edges of the once wanted one now wobbling
across the floor with mumbled good mornings
spilling towards her sleepiness
unwilling to want
unerring desire
unfettered musts
she watches for the filler to arrive
