Sometimes I wonder why I create the prompts I create. I think I’m starting to get it. I created the prompt for OctPoWriMo without having a clue what I would write. It is like this stuff is delivered from an otherworldly being, my hands transpose it and then I am left, the outer me, to explain myself.
See what I mean?
This poem is, ostensibly, about getting something that seems so way out there and impossible to decipher.... all I can offer is a metaphorical flashlight with some thoughts attached.
Don’t try to “figure the poem out.”
- Read it more than once. Slowly. Quickly. Aloud. Give it a chance to speak to you.
- Allow yourself to be completely confused, bewildered and befuddled. It is just part of the fun!
- If nothing else, be with the questions that arise from this too much to… too… two.
To Two, too.
My concept of TWO is changing
from concrete to wooshing about
No longer stuck or cement or a tomb
TWO isn’t capable of fissures
anymore
not to be cryptic
womb
lively
doesn’t
belong
on
the
thoroughfare
from
two
to
two
too
get
it?

It's too early and I haven't had coffee yet. I'm amazed that I got it. Well done.

You are all very brave poets & readers. I'm grateful you forged on with this one AND I know wrote some great stuff as well since I've been popping around reading. Thank you for your comments and especially your participation!

I get it 2. And thanks for the prompt today - usually I try to get mine in early, but was stuck this morning. Read your prompt - and WHAM, I created one! So thank you Julie. Even if it stressed you out - you did nicely with it.
