I need to get a couple poems from my notebook to the keyboard. Granny (that's me!) is trying some new strategies to actually do so while watching Jaxon. He's playing happily right now, so I'm doing what I can in this precise moment and what I realized, as I wrote is this: my lament fits with the theme.
I could have a whole different poem in the back of my head!
Anyway - on with today's words:
Just because
Simon says
I don’t have to
but I want to
so I will
and the good part
the best part is
almost always
(yes, almost always)
I feel better
after I do
even what I thought
I didn’t want
to do

This poem was borne from a prompt at OctPoWriMo, a month long writing challenge. 31 poems in 31 Days. You may still join... in fact, I hope you will.
I love the twist with Simon says.

Defy Simon! Yes! I always sucked at that hame anyway! I liked the reference to the game...and the sentiment. I want to so I will. I sometimes get into the have tos when it really is a choice...so much better to own it.
