The taste of special k lingers in my mouth
Wouldn't call it yummy or tantalizing or even tempting
More like utilitarian and supposedly healthy
Eat it like you write a to-do list
Because you know it is an idea that is good for you
like flaxseed meal and regular mammograms
(and all those other things)

I'm reminded of three poets this morning: Marianne Moore, Margaret Atwood and Gertrude Stein. This poem is most reminiscent, for me, of the last poet - so here is a photo of me on the steps of one of her Baltimore homes I visited last Spring.
"Poetry from Julie Jordan Scott" has been included in our A Sunday Drive for this week. Be assured that we hope this helps to point even more visitors in your direction.

Oh man, I've never been a fan, and they way you describe it supports my view. I shall continue to stay away from special k. Breakfast is for the birds, well, for me anyway... Came by via Jerry's, nice to read you.

Thank you thank you, Jerry, for including me in the drive! And Shadow, ya know, special K is not for everyone. :-) Not even me this morning!
