This poem was inspired by a photography you will find on Poets on the Page - a blog for writers of poetry. Included with the photo are other prompts for you to explore. If you are curious or even the slightest bit inspired, I hope you will go check out Poets on the Page and share your poetry there.
She stares into that page for a split
second or an eternity?
The question lurks in the grey
where no answer is easily discerned
for certain
Not that any ever truly is, truly
Interpretation
Perception
Your view and His view
the question hovers in the grey
and hers
all different
I am certain that wide white bow
has a different name for some
like Alaskan natives words for snow
the question frolics in the grey
or the English language and her woefully
short list of words for love
My knee that aches would
hurt some, bother others and
annoy the hell out of the third
while some are shouting
GRAY not GREY I tell YOU!
it would be medicated or exercised
or ignored or cut into by another
the questions sit and watch and wait
though you might scoff and say
questions can not be personified --
she stares into that page for an eternity
and a split second
