Love tells me all I need to know
and all I don't need to know
Love is woefully underutilized these days
at least in its original form
Love flirts and calls me a magic charm,
a taboo,
a fruit from the zizyphus family
things I didn't know until now
Love tells me I'm aromatic
filled with luscious herbs
sacred and surprisingly a Bostonian
caterer of French descent
Love smells like erudition on a cloudy day,
listening to a forgotten waterfall
Love is heavy but never a burden
Love has made some lovely dresses,
costumes and more smiles than I though possible
Love teaches me
Love reminds me
Live instructs me
Love has many new faces and colors and
supposedly helpful albeit conflicting instructions
I love my love
This poem reflects the theme of "Love is" as offered by the OctPoWriMo prompt on October 8
, 2013. If you have yet to hear of OctPoWriMo,
it is a month long poetry challenge: 31 Poems in 31 Days. As you can
see, it is flexable to a degree - I am not posting this until the
morning of October 3, simply because my mind was crafting it throughout
the day yesterday AND I didn't have adequate keyboard time to get it out
to the world and YOU! Join us and enjoy!!
Pretty cool Julie! It's sounded like a recipe for something delicious which of course love is.

"Love is woefully underutilized these days" so true. I enjoyed your poem Julie. Thanks for being you and always knowing the right thing to say, at least to me. :)

Oh how lovely! "Love tells me I'm aromatic..." that is sublime!

"Love is heavy but never a burden." YES! The portrait you paint of love is one I like. :D

I like how your poem dances around what love can be and what love is -- all of the above. "Love tell me all I need to know" suggests love will instruct -- but before the poem is done, love becomes the lover, contradictory, but expanding the senses, a flirting celebration. Lovely!
