Today at OneStopPoetry the form of study is the Rondel. Oh, I love metrical verse and oh, I don't believe I gave this form justice today.
All writing is practice, right? I believe I will continue to experiment....
and for now be satisfied with this rough drafty Rondel I am choosing to call...
Words Waltz
Words waltz simply for sound-love's sake
Paint splatters page in startling hue
Who can bear the banal-froth stew?
Questions hover above the lake
She only learned to give not take
Her voice moves from you to you, you
Words waltz simply for soundlove's sake
Paint splatters page in startling hue
Turbid slate clouds call her awake
Her eyes scan the sky, blue to blue
Praying for a harsh shouted clue
Passion's bold crown could not be fake
Words waltz simply for sound love's sake

you got the form perfectly right julie - stable pentameter - not iambic but doesn't have to be - so that's fine
but you know what - i tried to sing your words in a waltz rhythm - and it was fun - fitting the words into this 3/4 meter...dance on..
