Love this, especially the idea of your daughter wanting a boyfriend with the manners of the duck!

This one really brought a huge smile o my face, Julie.. the simplicity of expression, and the innocence and purity in though here were a joy to read and experience!
This is love indeed... pure sweet unconditional love!
Thanks for sharing this tender poem with us at Potluck, my friend.. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness...

Isn't it fun to watch nature and see what (they) have to teach us?

Wow!!! I could almost relate to the Duck and yes, just by being there in their nature, the nature gives us enough.. I agree with you completely and I liked this verse so much...

Wood ducks look like such dapper gentlemen ducks in those lovely hats of theirs, it's good to know that they have the manners to match. Best wishes to the daughter on finding an equally chivalrous young man. Spring is the time! ;-)

I've never seen a wood duck, all we have here are grebes- but at least they can dance!

Here from the potluck. My offering is at http://shawnbird.com/2011/02/13/your-smile/

Fantastic nature poetry. I'm sure that this would be right up Wordsworth's or Coleridge's alleys and I mean that as a compliment.

There is so much to learn in nature's academy.
