This one was unique.
The journey to get here was surprisingly dense and long and looked nothing like
this at the beginning. I coded and decoded and poked around my life for quiet,
insipid episodes of coding.
I wouldn't normally write on this topic, but the prompt from Big Tent Poetry compelled me.
Eventually, I found
more than three pages of free writing fodder that I wove into stanzas NONE of
which made it into this poem, which leaped from an image across the street as I
sat at my porch to write this morning.
The photo was taken, ironically, almost a year ago today and yes, this is where I managed to "see through the code" (there is a hint for you who are looking for specific coding in this poem!). Maybe my coding is SOOO tricky, it is invisible.
PS - Don't get lost in "finding the code" instead, enjoy the words....
Made me laugh AND made me say “Thank you!”
"Seeing Through the Code"Faint whispers &
Beret tilts to
Ruffle her golden curls
Only
the most
Aware notice
The winking eyes
Through the
Linden leaves –
“Your gift.
A new
Beginning.”
Sunrise
She turns
And her
Footsteps
Sing, “Thank
You for
Taking the
Time to
Unwrap me!”

Hm, not sure if there;s a code here or not, but I do love the imagery and the short short lines, the poem really "falls" down the page, like unwrapping it as you scroll along.

Sweet words but the secret stays hidden. Good work!

Each day is a new beginning and the sunrise umwraps the me who will live it. That's what I got from the poem and the photo. But, that doesn't matter. The poem is lyrical as it moves down the page, like a confident woman who has just awakened to stride into the sunlight.

I get strong impressions of a painting in the first stanza. Maybe you are opening a piece of art? Strong images are at play here, I love it!
