The audio describes where this poem came from. The original prompt came from CARRY
ON TUESDAY from Keith Ramblings.
You may want to check out this space for your prompting.
Today's prompt was simply:
What
is it you find so amusing, dear?
My poetic response is:
You
Are Not My Dear
What
is it you find so amusing, dear?
Is
it the way you took that knife
and
sliced me in the back, so neatly
so
deftly so hidden and I bet you never
expected
me to find out, expected
the
cut to be so deep my body would
shrivel
as my blood drained from me
only
you didn't know my fortitude
because
I remember all too well that
time
before when the group of you
well,
I know you remember, too
So
I don't see how you could
find
any of this in the least
bit
amusing, in fact, I am finding
the
satisfaction in what is happening
to
you much less sweet than I
could
have expected, and not
at
all amusing, not amusing at
all
dear, for I suppose after all is
said
and done - nothing is said or done
When
the knife slices life force
from
you or me or her or him
or
them or anyone which is why I
am
using my words to let you know,
This piece was to the point, cutting, deep, and sad... ;-(

So Amusing

This is amazing. Your words gripped me to the very end. Thanks for taking part in Carry On Tuesday. I hope you'll become a regular contributor.

I think I want my blankie now. Know the feeling though, too well sometimes.

We've all been stabbed in the back at some time.
