Amaze: #Poem from this Week's 3WW: Amaze, Frail and Sacred Frame It

The words for this week’s 3WW are:

 

Amaze

Sacred

 

I immediately knew it was a 3WW just for me. Thank you, Thom. I hope this short poem lives up to the words, at least a little bit. I am going to work on some fiction on my way to Tucson as well, using the three words as my guide. I did FridayFlash or is it FlashFriday? this week, and loved loved loved the process. I haven’t written fiction for years so I enjoyed the heck out of the positive responses. I am going to keep going…. And for now, this short poemlette will need to be just right.

 

Amaze

 

"Amaze me!" she commanded, her breath ragged.

Lungs, frail. The sound with each inhale

was painful to hear.

 

"Amaze you?" he asked, fear and awe

merged in the question. "Amaze you."

He said, his words a prayer.

 

His movements, liturgy. He flailed.

He became still, his brown eyes met

her misty blue. Sacred. "Thank you."
