LOVE the pic with the poem - wonderful!!!

Cynthia Short

"Not for the meek, these daily surveys". Yes, when we are honest with ourselves it can get a bit rough!
Very nice work, I really liked the description you gave of the woman. So thought out and true sounding.

Anthony North

Great last line. Enjoyable.

That last line was stellar. The lines preceding it were stellar...

Great all the way around.

Hi Julie,

'Pock marks, cat scratches just now healing/
Excess puffiness clouding the waistline/
And the corners of tired grey-blue eyes'

This girl's having a hard time!

That's why I shy away from journals. :) Ah the angst. This piece is absolutely vivid, vibrant and lovely in all truth!

Sweetly suggestive piece.

DJ Vorreyer

I also liked "Not for the meek/these daily surveys." Cathartic.

So many things to appreciate:

The words; stanzas perfect as their own poem, the sibilance of the second stanza, the disclosure that the reader can make their own.

Oh, and I liked it, too. =)

Oh, but I do love the trying-too-hard sweetness from the dollar store candle.
