The Peace-filled Writing of Me

I have been facilitating a writing workshop
for over two years - we meet on the telephone
once a week and connect our voices from
places as distant as Germany and Scotland
and as close (to me) as the Bay Area of California.

Our topic for this particular week was
"Writing Peace". One of the exercises
we did was a "Word Pool" which is
when we enter into a brief centering
exercise and then bubble words which
reflect the topic into a collection of words.

These words, then, inform and fill our
writing.

Here is the list we created:

Faith    Children    Birdsongs
Mountain    laughter trust
centered    surrender   breathless
tranquility    fountain   rhythm
zones  essential   serene  glide
light  stillness trust message joy surf
pool    heart  breath  soul  love  core
waterfall  clouds zest  soft   joy  float
raindrops  tones  energy  surf  truth
breathe

And from that list, here is the "slice of
peace" I created:

The rhythm of my pen glides across the page – up
and down, back and forth. I hear my skin swooshing,
skin against pink lined paper.  My calloused finger
even rejoices.

Breath filled tranquility, mountains of papers and
words collected in filing cabinets echo laughter
and birdsongs and messages of trust
imbued stillness.

Faith: serene essence of truth-soul-heart envelops
me with radiant peace.

Writing peace.

Creating peace.

Peace that moves beyond and through my
intellect… my head-only-understanding and
tumbles like water falling over rocks into my
heart-mind-knowing.

Writing peace.

Art peace.

The peace-filled writing of me.

Write Your Way to an Exceptional New Year: Free International Writing Workshop Will Show You How

In a burst of inspiration during a weekly writing workshop, Bakersfield Creativity Coach Julie Jordan-Scott felt a lightning bolt of an idea interrupt her train of thought. “How would a no charge, 42 Day long course offered either online via audio and blog or Teleclass meet a need for the one-out-of-ten people who want to write their own books?”

42 Days of Writing Passionately will begin meeting via Telephone Session and/or online blog lesson on January 10, 2006. Participants will receive daily lessons which include a timed writing session – and an opportunity to share their writing on the live calls or via the accompanying discussion list. 

The course content focuses on bringing writing to life using “10 Writing Passion Points”.  Each point is discussed and used as a central point for writing four times throughout the course.

Due to its unique structure and format, it offers instruction to students from across the globe including Pakistan, Scotland, Albania, Canada, Germany, Austria, Argentina and more.
