Tuesday, June 8 at 10 AM Pacific Time
Listen to it here:
Our only rules:
Rules: Love: Encourage: Ignite: Encourage: Love
Warm Up: Breathing the Now…
Now, I am…open mind and breathe deeply into a wordless space
that brings you completely into the present…
Now I am… and allow the words to flow.
Congratulations! You have written a
poem!
The
role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to
say.

Poetry is a river;
Many voices travel in it;
Poem after poem moves along in
the
Exciting crests and falls of the
River waves. None is timeless;
Each arrives in an historical
context;
Almost everything, in the end,
passes.
But the desire to make a poem,
And the world’s willingness to
Receive it – indeed the world’s
Need of it – these never pass.”
PROMPT: Poetry IS....
"Prose: words in their best order. Poetry, the best words in the best order."Samuel
Taylor Coleridge
Listen,
now, to a story for my love for clickety-click-click, busy-ness and then…
clickety silence and then…..Tell the story of shooting photos of everything and
nothing at In-and-Out, on stage, etc.
1. Something clicked
into place creatively yesterday which especially intrigued me.
2. A light went on
yesterday in a room that had been dark for quite a long time.
3. The last puzzle
piece found its way home yesterday after it had been missing for a long, long
time.
4. The Mom’s face lit up the room when her prodigal child reappeared, finally, after being away for what felt like too many seasons but was, perhaps, a month – at best.
Writing a poem is a kind of
possible
love affair between something
like
the heart (that courageous but
shy
factory of emotion) and the
learned
skills of the conscious mind.
They
make appointments with each
other,
and keep them, and something
begins
to happen. Or, they make
appointments
with each other but are casual
and often
fail to keep them: count on it,
nothing happens.
