Announcing the March Writing Intensive Winter Camp: Preparing for the Warmth to Come

Our next writing intensive program is scheduled for just before Spring begins - we will begin on Monday, March 8, 2009 at 8 AM Pacific.

Bring your writing projects (or your wishes/plans/hopes) for projects and settle into a week of intense inspiration, enlivening discussion and passionate creativity which will give your writing exactly the boost it needs to take it to where you (and the writing itself) desires to go.

 

Imagine receiving buckets, no - make that boatloads -  of inspiration, fresh insights and ideas to plug into your current project or your writing-project-waiting-to-be.

Know you will receive MP3's of each session so you may attend live or attend on your own schedule AND revisit the Writing Intensive whenever you need additional support.

Our theme – Preparing for the Warmth to Come – says much about my intention for each Writer who attends. I want to take my anchor art, my love of all times, and create an experience for you to set aside five days to focus on writing so that you will be able to create in a safe, nurturing space which will allow you to take your writing to its next level.

I aim to stand alongside you as you make these changes in your writing, your art, that will last a lifetime.

That is my aim for each person who participates.

To make a difference in your writing that will last a lifetime.

We will use writing exercises and writing prompts to get your juices flowing.

We will set goals and intentions - and do some camp/retreat style rituals around those goals and intentions.

I will not tell you what to write or what precisely to work on - although I will be glad to coach you around this. If you want to book a coaching session during camp and a follow up, I will have special rates for campers for that service.

I want to support you in your writing endeavors, I want you to have lasting writing breakthroughs that you will find satisfying.

I want our Writing Intensive Session to become your Writing Sanctuary.

We will be gathering at Camp over a telephone bridge line for our week-long adventure at Writing and Creativity Camp.

March Writing  Intensive "Camp" : March 8, 20010  through March 12, 2009

Here is how it works:

You will receive a PDF Camper’s Handbook the night before Camp begins. It is  complete with exercises and inspirational tips, quotes and suggestions for successfully completing your time at Writing Intensive Camp.

Every day we will have three fifteen to thirty minute writing sessions on our conference call line to provide you with a combination of inspiration and writing instruction along with sharing and discussion.

Campfires (all times Pacific): 

8:00 to 8:15 AM; 11:00 to 11:15 AM; 2:00 to 2:30 PM

Friday will have two campfires – one at 8:00 AM and a closing celebration at 1:00 PM

Who is best suited to attend this unique, Writing Intensive Program?

1. People who need an extra bit of oomph to complete or move forward on a writing project.
2. People who are experiencing blocks with writing.
3. People who want to write more than they are currently writing but can’t seem to get the impetus to put the pen to the page.
4. People who want to hang out with other cool people and think a Writing Intensive Program sounds like an intriguing way to do exactly that.
5. People who have a long standing love affair with words and think this would be a great way to keep that love alive.
6. People who would enjoy having a love affair with words and haven’t yet figured out a way to romance words.
7. Artists of any kind who would like to add more writing to their artistic strengths.
8. People who are curious about having a Camp over the telephone from anywhere in the world!

At the close of the day, you may choose to submit a snippet of your writing to your camp buddy.

You will also submit a snippet of your writing to Lead Counselor, Julie Jordan Scott. Each Camper will reflectively read the writing of her (or his) buddy and formulate a question about the writing, a compliment about the writing and also a possibility of change for the writing. This is not a requirement – this is optional. It is fruitful and optional.

I know some of you are wondering, “What if I can’t make it to a campfire?” Well, that is fine, too – we will be recording our sessions so you can listen, and write from them, later. You still have your Camper’s Handbook which will help you along until you get the chance to listen.

(In fact, you can listen to those recordings any time in the future and do camp over-and-over-and-over again if you want to…)

Registration is reasonably priced so as many people are able to participate in the Writing Intensives as possible. Registration is only $27 for each session - Wow.
