Today, June 20, 2005 I am sooo grateful for....

The continuing splendid weather - so pretty and
heart filling.

The clear air - another amazing aspect of this June
in Bakersfield

My mother taking my girls out for a little bit so
I can continue catching up after my very hectic
weekend - and I may continue to put one foot in
front of the other

My call back tonight for "Fame" and Brian's
understanding and willingness to allow me to
be late, if necessary, for "Laugh-In" rehearsal

Sleeping longer than usual last night

Getting the oil changed on my van

The incredibly generous, loving people who
surround me daily

My computer, my notebook - and purple, fuschia
and gold

That Emma feels better and is going to go swimming
this morning and to Vacation Bible School this afternoon
(intending she meets some nice friends, possibly
even who live close by!)

Today, June 19 I am sooooo grateful for.....

Today being closing of the One Act Festival.
While it has been an exceptional experience, I
am ready for it to be over.

Introducing Hal to my Mom - I enjoyed making
that connection, and I was glad, again, to publicly
thank Hal for being so important in my life.

The chance to audition for "Fame" - I loved the
audition and that as a stand alone is tremendous.
It is weird - I would love the part and it doesn't
matter if I don't get it - great to feel that transition
into my cells and my being.

My luscious morning walk with Hank and Buttercup -
so clear and cool this morning - felt SOOOO good
to be out there, enjoying the sunshine.

Katherine's time with Sam yesterday - she is such
a great sister to him.

Fresh strawberries and bananas - yummmmmm-

Today, June 18, 2005 I am sooo grateful for….

The very cool, unusual weather floating around here

The fact that the children are all still asleep, even little Sam who was awake between 4 and 5:10 before he went back to sleep – right in time for my 42 Days of Writing Passionately call.

Brief *and still fun* rehearsal for “Laugh-In” yesterday –

The chance to audition today – completely unattached to the outcome… a very cool thing.

My mother is coming today – hooray, hooray –

My eyes don’t sting anymore, like they did from my salty tears yesterday morning.

The shouilder/back rub I received from Cora and Paul last night – and then Paul did a hand massage also – I felt like a QUEEN!

Today, June 17, 2005 I am sooooo grateful for......

Kevin Lively, who just made me laugh because he
came to my blog and posted about my helping with
the Peter Pen set in the future.... little did he know
how much I needed that laugh right in this moment.

Sara, who was so full of praise for "The Talents"
last night - she got it, she got it.

Andrew-formerly-the-Baker who also talked to
me afterwards.... and I remember all those relentless
chest-jabbing-in-your-face moments in "Into the
Woods" before life finally crumbled out of me
and I fell over literally on him *before he and
Brandon dragged me off stage*.

Marion - for facilitating today's 42 Days of Writing
Passionately session so eloquently and beautifully.

Hey, I just realized another "Into the Woods" alumna
was there last night - Cheryl.... Cinderella's Evil
Stepmother.... so good to see her, too, and I spoke
to Barbara Gagnon for the first time ever and was
able to compliment her work (always a +++ thing.)

I am grateful for my own depth of feeling - and witnessing
my own awareness to be with my feelings and
express the richness of my emotions... whether
or not they are "picked up" by others is secondary.

I am grateful for the note Mayva read to the cast
at our opening circle - YES!

I am grateful for the incredible work the cast did
last night, probably their best show yet... bravo!

I am grateful for the saltiness, stinging my eyes
which reminds me there may still be tears in there,
waiting to get out - and allowing them to flow may
be the best path of all in this moment.

I am grateful my children have slept in this morning.

I am grateful my mother is coming to visit tomorrow
for several days.

I am sooooo grateful.

Today, June 16, 2005 I am SOOOO grateful!

I am grateful for Maria's facilitation of the 42 Days of
Writing Passionately Program - my words in her
voice brought tears to my eyes. Wow, such
a blessing.....

I am grateful to be awake to experience the
preciousness of the sunrise

I am grateful to have taken time last night to
unwind, sing, dance and simply "be"

I am grateful we are having this special
rehearsal tonight for the One Acts, which
is turning into a Theatre Celebration as
many actors/techs from across Bakersfield
will be coming to see the show "gratis" a
gift from US and the opportunity for the folks
contributing to other theatres across town who
would not have the chance to see the show
will now be able to see our show, too.

I am grateful for my coffee, my computer,
the quiet of my house.

I am grateful Sam slept throughout the
Writing call this morning. Great job, Sam!

I am grateful Katherine is coming home tonight
from San Francisco - and I trust she had a life
transforming adventure of her own - in the loving
care of my former-co-worker, Peg, who I
know was syncronistically brought back into
my life.

I am grateful for the cool breeze from the fan -
and know that in the heat of midday I will have
this delightful memory to tune back into whenever
I feel the need for a shot of cool air....

I am grateful for Camille Gavin's Art Column
in the Bakersfield Californian for her plug of the
One Acts (The Talents specifically) AND the
42 Days of Writing Program - HOORAY!

Being awake to see the glorious sunrise

Having NO rehearsal tonight!

Laugh-In rehearsal last night and seeing how sacred
The Spotlight Theatre is to me (we took the
stage for warm ups and I thought - "I am here,
this is my home!" as I stood where "Jack, Milky
White and I lived" in "Into the Woods" and tears
flooded my eyes.... felt so holy, so precious.

Seeing Roger at the theatre and then chatting with
him later as I prepared for today.

Today, June 13, 2005 I am SOOOOOO grateful for.....

Today, June 13, 2005 I am SOOOOO grateful for.....

Meeting Melanie and her family at "The Talents"
and going to dinner at Frugatti's - I loved watching
Emma interact with Max and Sam and was
glad that Katherine wasn't there because with
two seventh graders and an eighth grade boy
and then... Emma... I am sure the dynamic would
have been MUCH different!

Katherine's trip to San Francisco and to make
it even more dynamic - she is in PEG'S GROUP!
How very very very cool is this?! VERY!

Paul showed up for the play!! He was at the
renaissance fair performing and sneaked in
AFTER the beginning of Act 1, I hadn't been
so happy to see someone since I saw Paul
backstage after he was briefly fired.....

"Laugh In" rehearsal - it will be enjoyable to
work with Brian and even though I am bummed
that I am not working directly with Roger (especially
since that would have been a long-time goal
fulfilled) I am very pleased to have a part in
this production.

A great sleep last night

My pen and notebook - and the chance today to
prepare for several of my upcoming programs.
42 Days of Writing Passionately (starts tomorrow)
and How to Lead Teleclasses that Change Lives
(starts Wednesday).

I am grateful for the folks in the second session
of Marketing the Passionate Way, which starts
later today.

I am grateful for the warm sun, beaming its content
rays upon me through the window..... and I am
grateful it has been so mild lately even knowing
it is supposed to heat up to sizzling this week.

I am grateful for the memory that on this very day,
on June 13, 1969 I graduated from the first grade
at Linden Avenue School and took part in Mrs.
Shannon's retirement celebration, the chosen
one from Miss Foley's class.

I am grateful I took a moment last week to
allow the "I write because, I don't write because,
I am a WRITER" exercise..... to flow from my
heart and soul. What a COOL experience it is
and how mind and spirit opening it has become
for folks, writers and "non" writers alike....

I am soooooo very grateful!

Today, June 11, 2005 I am soooooo grateful....

Opening night of the One Act Festival and especially
for "The Talents" - so spectacular to see the words,
the colors, hear the music and watch the hearts
unfold on stage.  Excellent, soul fulfilling stuff and
I loved praising the actors and reassuring them
about their "errors" - saying things like, "I know
you know it and will get it right tomorrow."

Seeing Julia at the Festival, one of my initial
script readers who gave excellent feedback
with her words plus the glow on her face as
she described what I created said even more.
(Julia, also known as Thelma to my Phoebe
Reece - Long live Farndale!)

Waking up this morning to a nice, quiet house
and writing in the peace of everyone else
sleeping.

Hank for keeping me company all the time -
how I adore this dog!

My computer which stores my words so lovingly
and reminds me to start and continue, start and
continue, start and continue.....

The birds melodious voices which are ever present
right outside my window.

Emma's performance last night - she did a great
job, was very focused and happy - and looked so
cute with her hair curled.

Eric's storyboard was spectacular although I was
a bit embarassed by all the "Talents" pictures - by
the storyboard it looks like this is THE TALENTS
festival, oh with a couple other one acts thrown
in for good measure.... *Blush*

Chatting with Mike briefly yesterday felt really
good, too. I was glad to have connected with him.

ROBERT! who saved the day by helping me with
my music CD. The music sounded amazing and
Victoria did a great job with it from the booth, I
was afraid I would have to run sound myself but
she did an excellent job!
