Now - on with today's inspiration -
“Great artists make the roads; good teachers and good companions can point them out. But there ain't no free rides, baby. No hitchhiking. And if you want to strike out in any new direction — you go alone.”
― Ursula LeGuin
What happens when you approach your business or life work from the perspective of an artist?
When you consider striking out alone, what does that feel like? Look like? What does it bring up in your heart and mind?
Make a list of 5 to 10 teachers, leaders or companions in your life.
Make a list of 3 to 5 directions that sound exciting for you to take.
Make a list of 3 actions your teachers, leaders or companions made that surprised you and took them further down their road of choice.
Bonus: Match up the teachers with the directions and write an imaginery letter from the person, to you, about the direction you would like to take.
Traditional Writing Prompts:
This is how I know I am an artist of my life and my work….
My teacher (companion, leader) _______ taught me….
I remember when I….
I remember when my teacher (companion, leader)……
