Today's prompt from #trust30 (which today I learned was really a part of the Domino Project... and the layers peel away) has spent the day rattling around in my memory.
Here's what Ralph & Corbett had to say:
"There will be an agreement in whatever variety of actions, so they be each honest and natural in their hour."
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
What would you say to the person you were five years ago? What will you say to the person you’ll be in five years?
(Author: Corbett Barr)
Five years marks the precursor to me dropping the ball I wrote about picking up from yesterday's prompt.
It is as if these Domino Project/#trust30 people are walking around in my head or something.
On June 14, 2006, I published these words in my ezine, "Daily Passion Activator"
"Look. Move with care. Observe with an open heart.
Look. Don't follow. Choose. You know what is right."
Not a metaphor in sight.
Just the truth."
It sounds so wise and almost like the future me of the past was attempting to prepare me for the hell which would come in the next eighteen months as multiple "straws that attempted to break this camels back"... lo and behold, didn't.
Here is what I would write to that naive, unprepared person with wide open heart, arms and mind who was not yet comfortable with addressing anger or what others labelled "negative."
Dear 2006 Self,
You have this extraordinary openness about you that makes other people marvel. Listen to what I am saying: stay open, m'love, as the next eighteen months or so take you on your bumpiest ride yet. Bumpier than the stillbirth of your firstborn, bumpier than the failure of your marraige, bumpier than all that aloneness and neediness you faced in the past. Unlike those past times, don't close up. Stay open, stay alert and stay on top of details. Enlist the assistance of those who love you. There are many of them. Open your needs to them. They will love you even more for it."
Now, to myself five years from now.
Dear 2016 Self,
We DID it!!! Hallelujiah, amen!

Dear Julie,
You hit on my blog post only moments after I published the link on Ralph Waldo Emerson's page on Facebook! Kindred in the message to our selves five years from now, indeed.
Other than that, your first was stillborn, my first and only child lived until 5 last minutes of delivery. Heartbreak and heart ship - If it doesn't kill you, it'll make you stronger. And if you live to write about we can help others feel less alone with their plight.
Agreed: Glad to have met thanks to Trust30. Will check back with you and will link your blog on mine in margin. Hoka Hey! Judith
