This week was monumental in that I completed NaPoWriMo, April’s exercise in daily poetry writing. My final poem was an amalgam of all of my poems from the month. I sliced a line from each poem and then randomly drew lines and wove them together into a poem. I edited in the tiniest bit – but I loved seeing the lines individually and together because they were the perfect reflection of this month for me.
What was it like? What did I do? What did I feel?
Who am I now that I wasn’t when April started?
I love the theme of Intuition at Creativity Every Day this month. I have a very practiced, well used intuitive sense. I plan to use it on my next largish (for me) visual art project.
I am going to take my final poem from NaPoWriMo and make it into a sculptural assemblage. Cameron is a sculptor, a pro who teaches at the college level, so I vaguely asked him for advice on how to make a “sort of” sculpture with my words. He started talking about printmaking and cotton paper and my mind left the conversation rather quickly.
I had thought of experimenting with Mod Podge and I think that is where I will continue to go. I know it will be sticky but… I think it will also work. Call it intuition.
I hope to begin tomorrow – my pieces are sorted, the background pages are prepared.
Now, to begin color and shaping.
Wouldn’t it be great if I could share its progress with you next week?
I think I will.
Here is an intuitive question for you –
Looking at the bits and pieces of word which show in these
photos, which question or word combinations wants your attention? Do you see
that one line, “I hover at the edge of the question…”

I love the concept of integrating varying poems into a visual project. What a wonderful way to explore your intuition. Enjoy!

I cannot wait to see your project next week. I think this is such a creative idea. The words that I will be thinking about are: stare back from the page.

the page is my alarm, a call to write...how profound! It could be my alarm to draw or paint too. Thanks for sharing this Julie.

I love the image of all of the lines jumbled up, this will be a fun piece of art. You can't help but read the lines!

What a wonderful project and great idea to fuse the written word with a visual project. "stare back from the page" jumped out at me first.

oh wow ... that prompt could end up taking me months to shift through! What an amazing project ... yes, I love the tumble of lines (hmmm ... how my brain must look these days?) and I cannot wait to read/see what you craft from it.
hovering ... i hope that i am jumping in even if only to stir up more questions, more jumbles of words and ideas!

That's an excellent way taking your past words and transforming them into a new experience.
Beauty and love hover in my intuition
A very happy Creative every day month.
I look forward to hearing more about your Mod Podge creation.
Sounds exciting. :)
Happy week.

I love words. Seeing all those words together makes me happy.
I can't wait to see what you do with the "intuition" theme. I'm struggling with ideas. My creativity seems to be failing me as of late!

Love this! I catch myself thinking I need to study/learn more, read another book, mentor under someone and then I realize I just need to roll up my sleeves, get in there, and get going!
I wanted to pass on to you a Happiness 101 Award because coming here is one of the places I know I will receive inspiration, encouragement and joy. No pressure to respond, but you can grab your slice of virtual cake over at my pad :)
Much love -
Lis

I feel like I'm always hovering at the edge of something. I like the question you asked yourself, "Who am I now that I wasn’t when April started?" We do change constantly, don't we?
