My children and I are in Flagstaff, Arizona, visiting my parents and I type in the lobby of the Super8 on Route 66 - the main attractor to us staying at this location? The Barnes and Noble next door.
We are referring it to our "living room."
Last night it felt like my salvation.
I love my children with all my heart and soul and being and being stuck in a car and then a motel room and then making sure they don't offend or bother my parents with too much noise... well, I needed respite.
Off I walked to Barnes and Noble - through the snow - to get a cup of coffee and an ounce or two of sanity.
The brisk wind tickled my cheeks. I reveled in the flakes landing on my scarf and in my hair and across the bridge of my nose.
A moment of nirvana. Life is good.
