It feels so odd to have my prompt be the NaPoWriMo prompt at ReadWritePoem.org but it is and here is my poem (finally!) I wrote from a memory of intuition and so much came up when I started, I could have written several chapters in a book.
I narrowed it down a bit and came up with this:
Coat of Convention.
Round tipped shoes cover my toes
As I hover at the edge of the question,
Waiting with a thin coat of convention
Upon my upper lip and my brow
Unable to ask, but needing to
I hear my voice whisper, “God, do
You find my voice offensive?”
No surge of wind rushes in
No zephyr, no Sally, no plagues
Or locusts or curdling frogs
Thoughts tumble, though
Somersaulting insults
“There are people who
won’t like you for writing
this, Bitchypoo.”
Intuition’s Army doesn’t mingle
Life Fools’ Nudge Sargeants bluster in
Shouts and leaps and grumbling
Bellies, predominantly pushy
Intuition’s Army, instead is the
Humble questioning, the whisper-shouts
And the occasional boa-wearing tap
Dancer shuffle stepping her way
Into chanting, “Hear me!” and
“Be heard”… “NOW!”
Life Fools roustabout in the
Guilt-laced purgatory I strapped
Myself into
Intuition’s Army is in the breeze
In the surprise coincidence
In the circumstance that can’t be so
Yet is
Your voice, I get, was created,
I nod, to be heard, yes. It is.
To sing, to be shelter, and
Fortress and a scratchy, cozy
Vocal nest
Round tipped shoes cover my toes
As I hover at the edge of the question
I leave the coat of convention
Behind as I leave, having found the way

Yeah, I enjoyed reading this, thanks! And many thanks for the wonderful prompt today at RWP.
btw, love the bit about Bitchypoo!

So many voices, so few forms of retaliation. Seriously, fascinating take on your own inspiration.
