One of the ways I stay limber with my writing is to try out new games and challenges. I firmly believe they are the key to my growth as a writer.
Today I am attempting a brand new form, The American Sandwich - due to this challenge I discovered somewhere in my meanderings around word play.
Here is where you may go to play, too.
And now, my first attempt at the American Sandwich... a combination of The American Sentence poem and... two pieces of poetic bread.
This is where he started dying -
Only the milestone stood between her, the devil, and the deep blue sea
Seagull roars in the wind. It dives for lunch.
Hi Julie, many thanks for playing the American Sandwich game.. We enjoyed reading your contribution, I'd be worried if the hungry seagull was coming for me...
I was just wondering if it should be he or she on the first line.
Nicely done!!

I read it as her at the milestone of him starting to die - that hungry seagull may have its eye on her now.
