Words I used from the donation:
mosaic post
fence guard
sublime slither
jetty gaze
excrete sediment
granular finish
Poem: Like it Like That
It is a maze
a mosaic of sorts
a granular, confused
black and white
television set
straining to become
color in the 70's
rabbit ears and
grainy sediment
wishing itself invisible
or is that me?
My breath tightens
in my chest as these
plans seem overbearing
and I wonder why I didn't
bother starting sooner
my guilt slithers into
its archaic hole whisking
and wishing and wondering
Why it can't be more sublime
More like the Dana Point Jetty,
More like the Life Guard at Tower 7
The one whose gaze finally made
me feel ironically ok that day
at Hole in the fence
Why can't this "Planning" stop
excreting scorching residue
onto my sensitive skin?
Doesn't It know I am a
Fly by the Seat of My Pants
Girl and frankly I
Like it
Like
That
Yes. That IS me.
