There are those moments
When these letter containers
Just don’t quite work, can’t begin
To hold what my heart and soul
Want to express
So I remain silent
I imagine the talisman of space
And distance and the veil of
Separateness-from-the-subject
Tacitly grants permission for
Voice to rise
So I remain silent, waiting
In the quiet of the night
I gently allow my voyage to
Take me a little bit deeper
Tiptoe to the edge and peer
Over into stillness
So I remain silent, pensive
I drop a stone into that space
And listen to the wind
Of its falling rushing pull
No splash, no finale
Nothingness
So I remain silent, accepting
